We've compiled a suggested essential oil combinations that can help take your natural black hair to the next level.
Here are some of the best essential oil combinations for natural black hair:
- Scalp treatment: Mix 5-10 drops of tea tree oil with 1 ounce of jojoba oil. Massage into the scalp and leave on for 30 minutes to an hour before rinsing with shampoo.
- Hair growth: Mix 5 drops of rosemary oil, 5 drops of lavender oil, and 5 drops of cedarwood oil with 1 ounce of castor or jojoba oil. Massage into the scalp and leave on for 30 minutes to an hour before rinsing with shampoo.
- Moisture boost: Mix 5 drops of lavender oil, 5 drops of frankincense oil, and 5 drops of ylang-ylang oil with 1 ounce of argan oil. Apply to the ends of the hair to add moisture and prevent breakage.
- Hot oil treatment: Warm up 1 ounce of olive oil and mix with 5 drops of rosehip oil and 5 drops of sweet almond oil. Massage into the hair and scalp and wrap with a warm towel. Leave on for 30 minutes to an hour before rinsing with shampoo.
- Hair shine: Mix 5 drops of lemon oil and 5 drops of peppermint oil with 1 ounce of jojoba oil. Apply to the hair for added shine and a refreshing scent.
- Hair refresher: distilled water 5 drops lemon (or other citrus) 5 drops peppermint for refreshing scent and added shine
It's important to remember that essential oils are very concentrated, so always dilute them with a carrier oil or in water before applying to your hair, scalp or skin. Also, be sure to patch test the oil on a small area of skin before using it, especially if you have sensitive skin.
